April & May Encaustic Workshop

All you need is the desire to express. Don't worry about all that other stuff. We have fun here!

Why Encaustics
Wax is an ancient artistic medium used originally to repair broken clay vessels and caulk boats. By adding pigments and resin into the wax a paint was created. Being non reactive to other materials, impervious to moisture & mold and instant drying, this medium is extremely versatile.

About the Artist
Chris Craft is a fine artist with a long commercial art history. He has painted for most of his life in a variety of styles and media. But, encaustic abstract paintings are his passion where he experiments with color and sculptural texture. Craft layers the melted wax with different techniques, including
actually painting with the flame. See more at: http://www.chriscraftartist.blogspot.com
